The Manipur Students' Association, Delhi was established in 1971 to provide a common platform for Manipuri students pursuing studies in Delhi. For 30 years, MSAD has been working for the welfare of its members, cutting across ethnic and institutional lines. It is an open body and admission to MSAD has no bar on class, sex, religion or community.

The functions of MSAD include sports meets, literary meets, seminars, essay and other competitions, cultural programmes, guidance and counselling .It also takes up issues relating to abuse, harassment and discrimination.

The Association has currently 4000 members, studying in various full time/past time schools, colleges, and professional vocational institutions.

MSAD STRUCTURE

The MSAD consists of an Executive Body of 8 members to execute its various functions. They are
(a) President (b) Vice President (c) General Secretary (d) Finance Secretary (e) Sports Secretary (f) Cultural- Secretary (g)Public Relations Officer

There is also an ADVISORY BOARD (started from 2001) to help and assist the Executive Body of MSAD in its various activities and decision-making. (However it has no authority on its own and the final decision rests with the Executive Body. The latter also preserves the authority to whether consult the Board or not and it is not necessary for the Executive Body that the Advisory Board should be consulted in all matters.

There are 9 members in the Advisory Board chosen from various and varied institutions, considering their knowledge and expertise.
