Venue Changed — MSAD Election and Freshers' Meet.

This is to inform all concerned that the venue of MSAD's Election has been changed from DU Sports Complex to DUSSEHRA GROUND, MUKHERJEE NAGAR(NEAR DHAKA) DELHI-9. So, on the coming 24th Oct, MSAD will organise Freshers' Welcome Program (Thabal Chongba) along with election for the year 2003-04, at the above said venue. All Manipur students are requested to be a part of the programe.

And the timing for the 24th program is as follows:

i) Election: 3pm - 5pm
ii) Freshers' Welcome: 5pm - 7.30pm
iii) Thabal Chongba: 8pm - 1pm

NOTICE

What: MSAD Elections
Where: DU SPORT COMPLEX (NORTH CAMPUS)
When: 24th October 2003 (3 PM to 5 PM)

1. NOMINATION FORM FOR CONTESTING MSAD GENERAL ELECTION 2003-2004

2. The Nomination Form is in four pages. Whereas the first page is a general layout of information relating to rules and regulations such as contesting election, voting rights and casting vote; the remaining three pages constitute three forms to be filled by the candidate (form I) and by his/ her proposers (form I and II).

3. A complete form costs Rs. 50/- only.

4. A candidate must deposit a sum of Rs. 500/- only in cash as 'security money' at the time of submitting the form. This security money is refundable just after the completion of the election. Security deposit of Candidates who fail to turn up and report to the Election Commission in time on the Election Day will not be refunded.

Eligibility:

Students undergoing regular courses in the following institutions in Delhi viz. Delhi university, Jamia Milia

Before filling up the form please read carefully the rules and regulations mentioned below.Islamia University, Indraprastha University, Jawaharlal University, Jamia Hamdard University,any of the Govt. Medical college and Lal Bahadur Vidyapith are eligible to contest the election to any of the post in MSAD executive body- President , Vice- President, General secretary, Joint secretary, Finance secretary, Magazine secretary and Sports and Cultural secretary.

Students who are undergoing a regular post graduate courses in any of the above mentioned institutions, provided he or she is not a final year student and has stayed for at least a complete one year in Delhi are eligible to contest the election to the post of the president.

Proposer:

5. A candidate must have at least two Proposers.

6. A Proposer must be a bonafide regular student in any of the four Universities mentioned above.

Voting Right:

7. Voting right is exclusively restricted to bonafide Manipuri students pursuing education in Delhi.

8. Any bonafide Manipuri student must produce his/her valid identity card, issued by the concerned authority of the institution where he/she is enrolled as student, at the time of obtaining a ballot paper from the Polling Officer.

Documents to be submitted along with this form:

9. Every Candidate and his/ her proposers must attach the following documents while submitting the form.

10. Attested Photocopy of Valid Identity Card issued by College or University.

11. Bonafide Certificate issued by college or university.

12. Attested photocopy of High School Leaving Certificate.

13. Attested photocopy of mark sheet of the last exam passed.

It is notified to all the Manipuri Students studying in Delhi that the election to the Executive body of the MSAD for the new term 03-04 cum Fresher meet be held in mid October 2003. It is also further informed that those who are aspiring to bear the office of the executive body can register their name to the election commitee.

MSAD new President takes charge
10 Nov 2002, New Delhi

The new president of MSAD, Mr. Th. Somorjit Singh was handed over the much-coveted MSAD office today in a simple handing-over ceremony held at the residence of the outgoing president of MSAD. Members of the Executive Body of MSAD, 2001-02, Advisory Board were present in the ceremony along with the new elected executives of MSAD.

All authorities of the Executive Body of MSAD will henceforth be executed by the new Executive body starting today. The names of the new executives of MSAD, besides the president, will be declared in a week's time, according to Mr. Somorjit Singh.

MSAD new Executive Body taking charge from Nov 10
05 Nov 2002, New Delhi

The office of MSAD will be formally handed over to the new elected president of the session 2002/03, Mr. Somorjit Singh on Sunday, November 10, 2002. The rest of the Executive members will also formally handed over their offices.

The simple handing-over ceremony will be attended by the outgoing MSAD Executive members, outgoing MSAD Advisory Board and MSAD volunteers of 2001-02.

MSAD Freshers' Meet & Elections 2002
20 Oct 2002, New Delhi

MSAD cordially invites all Manipuri students in Delhi to its annual Freshers’ Meet cum Election on the 26th of October, 2002 (Saturday) at Police Grounds, Near Kingsway Camp. Commencing at 5.pm., the programme will start with the traditional opening song, followed by speeches and freshers’ introduction ceremony. Elections for the new members of the MSAD Executive Body 2002-03 will also take place after the Meet. Special items for the evening include Mr. & Miss. Freshers’ 2002-03 and ‘ Thabal Chongba’.

The much awaited North Eastern Students' House for Women at DU Hostel complex, Banda Bahadur Marg, Dhaka, North Campus is finally ready to be occupied by the 25th of next month.

According to information given to MSAD by DU, the bulletin of Information and Application forms for admission to the hostel will be on sale w.e.f. September 25, 2002. The hostel authorities are expecting that students will start occupying the hostel from October 25, 2002.

There will be 100 seats in the hostel. Out of this, 70 will be allotted to students from the North Eastern states. Any Post Graduate Manipuri woman student in the University of Delhi, who wish to avail a seat in the hostel, is thus requested to contact Prof. Meenakshi Thapan, Provost, North Eastern Students' House for women, DU.
