Lessons from the past

For an evening stroll she walked down the road. She didn't know where she was reading.

It had been a cloudy day but the strong minds blew the clouds far away, no lair-the weather was humid in the evenings. Still calmness as far as she could see. She didn't realise the time. It was ten to seven, her grandma must be worried so she quickly made herself up the hill. She had come there to spend some few days with her grandparents, old and retired.

Nights were so silent and quite, on the whole she wasn't happy. Her most important companion, TV wasn't in the guest house. Mornings, she would make up late when the bright sunlight passes through the curtains falling on her face. Her holidays were more complicated and nugatory - worthless. She was very much accustomed to city life and late nights there were no friends with her. The neighbours were yards far away from their house. 'IDLE' place was her first remark. During her breakfast, her grandma said she would take her out in the evening. Eager to know, she asked where to her grandma gave her a smirk and went to the kitchen. But her grandma wasn't feeling will at evening. So she assured that tomorrow evening it was certain. Her curiosity rose as she had been told that she would feel enormously jealous and blessed. Sharp 4.30 both were ready. They reached the place in another half an hour. The sign-board gave her a shock, frightened, here grandma is taking to a kinder garden school. To do what? She yelled inside the car. Her grandma retained her poise still. Come in, Pria for my sake. Grumbling she came out of the car, as soon as they passed the gate her eyes went straight towards the young buds playing, running in and around. She couldn't move her eyes anywhere, she went inside the park and sat there watching them playing so merrily, some kids came near and would giggled then ear back. From there they shouted who are you? Their English sounds so tweet, they didn't wait for her answer. How joyful and carefree they were. Innocent faces and twikling eye would be wondering who is the she didn't have the knock of pleasing the kids, being the only child of their parents. After a long time they came near to her. Do I look like your teachers? I won't scold you, come and sit here, she hinted to them.

Mined feelings overwhelmed her. Blissfully she played with them through she hardly knew how to play those simple games. Since childhood she had been an introvert and shy girl. Her parents never got time for her to make her child socialise like the other kids. Books were her best friend. Now she has selected friends.

She knew she wouldn’t be the odd one among all the kids there. Long time queries, which were burried deep inside, came out spontaneously. Then she asked your mom plays and listens to you? They didn't answered, they look dumb as if they didn't understand and your papa takes you out on weekends, sits with you matching TV fights and plays she had expected a YES. Kids always think there dad is the best, especially girls! Unlike her case she thought. They barely answered.

Then suddenly one thought struck her mind, how come you guys are here like 5:30 at school? They replied we stay here, hostel? I quickly asked, kind of said a little older boy.

I didn't get him. Then she said, “Tomorrow I would like you to come for a trip. Do you want?” They were like sisters won't agree. They suddenly looked sad, once and for all. She then went to the princi's room, here grandma was busy chatting with the old lady. She looked stir. My grandma introduced me.

My 1st query was who runs this school? It is charity schools for the orphans replied the princi and your grandma is an active board member. I was happy inside, proud of my grandma. The word 'orphan' gave me a blow. God! what have I done, what Qs had I asked. None looked hurt I guess they learned to except life. Later I was sure I should take them out. The princi gave me the permission with a teacher to accompany them. I agreed. My grandma came closer to me and whispered into my ears where to? I said I haven't decided. Tears rolled down her eyes as she told her grandma. I am so blessed grandma, I took life for granted, I never realised that I am lucky, I have home and parents to look after, I have always thought my parents take me for granted but it's a great gift I ever got to be bow to your family, she broke down. Later her grandma came and calmly hugged her, pria can your trip be here at HOME. She nodded. HOME is the place those orphans are deprived of.

Its never to late to realise your potential and zeal. If you are born you are blessed. make the most out of it.
